Rates of homelessness in New York City are at historic highs, housing options are limited, and human service resources are unable to keep up. Our organization was founded on the belief that homelessness is everyone's responsibility and that the community can help reduce and prevent homelessness.
Established in 1982 by religious and community leaders on Manhattan's Upper East Side, NCS offers an array of housing and comprehensive services, including counseling, substance abuse treatment, vocational and educational programs, and employment support.
NCS raises about 32% of its funds from donors like you -- thanks for contributing to our community response to assist people struggling with homelessness.
NCS is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible within the limits of the law.
